We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced ESG Manager to join the infrastructure equity team at Swiss Life Asset Managers. This role is instrumental in integrating ESG considerations across the investment lifecycle, aligning with both regulatory requirements and investor expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sustainability, private markets investing (preferably infrastructure), and in-depth knowledge of the evolving European ESG regulatory landscape, including SFDR, EU Taxonomy, and CSRD. 

Responsibilities

  • Implement and further develop the infrastructure equity ESG strategy and thematic priorities in line with the overall SLAM strategy, our values, investor demands, and regulatory requirements 
  • Support team with implementation of ESG initiatives, internal policy development, screening of new opportunities, training, and regulatory reporting obligations  
  • Manage the preparation of ESG-related disclosures in alignment with SFDR, EU Taxonomy, and other applicable regulations (e.g. CSRD) 
  • Coordinate and produce ESG reporting for IE funds  
  • Maintain ESG data infrastructure and ensure robust tracking of KPIs across portfolio companies 
  • The role will also include Asset management responsibilities, such as supporting Lead Asset Managers with Quarterly reporting and valuations, asset management reviews and implementation and monitoring of value creation activities at asset level 
  • Act as the key ESG liaison between internal stakeholders, portfolio companies, and external stakeholders including investors, advisors, and regulators 

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in ESG roles or investment/asset management roles with ESG exposure, with a focus on private markets investing, preferably in infrastructure or real assets 
  • Strong understanding of European ESG regulatory frameworks (e.g. SFDR, EU Taxonomy, CSRD). Understanding of Swiss regulation (e.g AMAS) as a plus  
  • Proven experience in ESG due diligence, portfolio monitoring, and engagement with portfolio companies 
  • Hands-on experience preparing ESG regulatory disclosures, LP reports and marketing content 
  • Strong communication and cooperation skills, with the ability to work closely with deal teams and portfolio company management 
  • Self-starter with analytical capabilities and a strategic mindset 
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages a plus 
  • Relevant academic background (e.g., Sustainability, Finance, Law, Economics, Environmental Sciences)
